15th and 22nd SEPTEMBER:
These sessions run twice a month and focus on different themes each time. They are group sessions and thus are general in approach. We start with movement and if the day is warm this will be outside. There will be guidance and explanation about how the breath informs, opens and releases emotions and provides insights on our patterns of behaviour. The most basic experience of being alive comes from within, through the physical sense of the self. Our inner experience coexists with what’s happening outside our bodies, The more we understand it, the more balanced our life becomes. The focus of the breath work sessions is on the physical - to move tension from our bodies we must be able to sense our physical bodies.
In the BBTR system we avoid, if we can, using words. We work towards expressing the felt sense enough to identify where we are feeling stress and where is safe in our body. Many of us, especially if we have pain (trauma) have a disconnected relationship with our physical bodies. This may seem difficult to change and we work towards learning how to do this.
When we open the body to release tension, we enhance our well-being. True openness requires a willingness to heal. It requires receptivity which interrupts the knock on effect of constriction and tension. If one muscle is tight it pulls on other muscles, organs and connective tissue and this activates, contracts, over-stretches, compensates, inhibits circulation, slows nutrient delivery and clogs the process of waste removal. We are magnificent but complicated beings and to begin to heal and to open using the process of relaxation and flow we must breath.
The breath session is about an hour and then there will be time to absorb the session and you can walk the labyrinth in the meadow or just have some herb tea.
